Where could I work?

I’ll spare details, but I’m 32yo old male, reasonable physical shape, no commitments to anyone or anything anywhere. I’m bored with regular life and want to do something different… somewhere different. I’m currently backpacking in Egypt and hold Israeli citizenship, have a few hundred dollars in pocket and nowhere to go after this. This seems like a good place for some ideas  oil-rigs, ships, armies, I don’t know, anywhere that can take me fast with few questions.

What do you know how to do?

I’m jack-of-all-trades master-of-none style. From programming (which I’m actually good at but don’t want to do) to tyre mechanic. French legion… travel/visa bs, but on the right track

You could try forwarding your CV to one of the oil service companies, try Schlumberger, Baker Hughes Inteq, Halliburton, Pathfinder, Precision or Weatherford. They all have an international prescence. Your only issue may be that you would probably have a hard time working in the Middle East region, what with your passport and all that. That said f yu have a degree they may put you overseas more western (US , UK Norway Russia, Caspian ). A mixture of computer competancy and practical skills is always a bonus partiuculary in a Wireline Logging or Measurement Whilst Drilling capacity. Hell, even cementers use computer these days.

Other options would be a rig contractor, Transocean, Pride, Nabors, Nobel, Seadrill. It would start out as more grunt work picking heavy things up and moving them around.

Go take a look at www.rigzone.com and search the jobs section. www.drillers.com is another site

thanks blonde chap, but those sites seem to suggest skilled labour, which I won’t be here. For all intents and purposes I’m complete newb, looking for grunt work… dishes and floors to clean most likely. All the oil rig sites I’ve found smell a bit scammy to me… always require some cash sent before important information about how it all works can be parted with.

There’s always teaching English in Southeast Asia. Thailand’s getting a bit more serious about qualifications, but there are still plenty of places that will take you as long as you’re simply a native speaker, or even fluent. These days, Cambodia or even Vietnam may be a better deal teachingwise than Thailand.
