Hey, Oldbroad, I’d pay NOT to see that video! YUK!
Just reviewed this and it hasn’t been seen in a while so I thought I’d see if anyone new to the board had any other thoughts on the subject.
My new sister-in-law got pregnant while in high school. She was almost five months along before she knew it. She said that she kept getting periods. They were much lighter than usual, but she thought it was just a fluke. She had gained a few pounds, but she said it wasn’t enough to think anything. Finally, she suspected something and went to a doctor.
It’s hard for me to believe that someone could go through an entire pregnancy without knowing, but after hearing her story, I at least think it’s plausible.
(Granted, I have never been pregnant, so I have no idea what it feels like)
This is quite the bump.
Anyone remember Carrie? Carrie is oblivious of her period…and well, I think we all remember that scene. Interestingly enough, Carrie White’s mother, Margaret, is in denial about her pregnancy. She is vehemently anti-sex (but has intercourse about once or twice). When she is pregnant, she believes she has cancer of the womanly parts. Then when she gives birth, the neighbors hear an unearthly screaming.
Also wasn’t there an episode of “Law and Order” where a girl was in denial of her pregnancy? Not really where she didn’t know, more like she just thought she could ignore it and it would go away. In that case, I think the father (of the girl) just left it somewhere.
That last comment offends me.
Someone who’s very obese won’t necessarily feel a baby moving, because the layer of fat cushions any kind of movement they’d normally feel.
<hijack of topic>One of the high schoolers at my mom’s school, 17, got pregnant. She lived with her dad and brother and was terrified to tell her dad. So she carried to term, never telling a soul. She went through labor early one morning in her bathroom and delivered her baby boy in the shower; cut the cord herself after tying it off; and only told her father after two of her friends showed up to visit and convinced her. Her father was shocked, but actually took it “much better than I expected,” she said.
Just thinking about going through labor alone, having to be completely quiet, and being terrified of being found out, gives me cold chills. I would have been a little worried about telling my family, but you know, I would have told them before then…
