Where did they go wrong in Judgment Night? Wrong turn that is

So, I just saw Judgment Night and while I’d rather forget it, I am intrigued at how the hell they ended up wherever they were and then ended up way north of where I thought they were.

So, we know they’re coming from the North Shore which, unless I’m mistaken, refers to the northern suburbs of Chicago. They are going to the boxing match at an unknown stadium. They take a wrong turn off of an unnamed expressway (I didn’t see any signs on it) and end up in a project and then in a railyard. Somehow, they end up at Fullerton.

Unless I’m thinking of a different Fullerton and Northshore, there’s no way the geography of this will work.

What stadium were they going to? I’m assuming it was either the United Center or the International Ampitheater. I don’t believe either of them hosted boxing matches, but that’s OK, I’m willing to suspend disbelief as long as it gets the characters to the right part of town. There’s also the comment Frank makes that he’s unsure if they’re even ten miles from their homes which would make the venue either the United Center or the Aragon. But the Aragon’s not right at all.

The problem is that there really aren’t any expressways by the UC unless it’s the Eisenhower, which doesn’t have any railyards by it to speak of.

This leaves the Stevenson down by Pershing, where the Santa Fe yards are. This makes sense, although It’s nowhere near the Ampitheater and certainly more than ten miles from the Noth Shore.

They also pass under an el track, which would put them at 63rd st or the Blue Line at 54th St.

That’s still way too far from Fullerton for them to walk, unless, obviously, the Fullerton Market isn’t at Fullerton.

I was thinking perhaps they were at Halsted/63rd at the strip, but who knows.

I’m putting too much thought into this, aren’t I?
