Where did this coin come from?

My wife bought a bag of old, beat up foreign coins. She likes to integrate them into her jewelry.

I found this coin. I harbor no fantasies of it being worth anything of course, but one of my flaws is that I am deadly curious.

It’s small, brass colored, it has an eagle…well, you can just see it here.

The no text part is tripping me up. I am thinking the country might have some kind of connection to the US because the eagle with the shield and branches look very similar. Also, I assume it is somehow connected to US or GB because its diameter is almost exactly 13/16 of an inch (and nothing so exact in mm).

I know we have a coin dealer on here (samclem maybe?).

Where did it come from? Does anyone have any ideas about its date range?

If anyone knows worth, you can say so, but I assume these coins have been sorted for their relative worthlessness.

Thanks!

It’s probably a token for some non-governmental entity. It may also be from a game or play set.

I’m gonna guess a token. I googled "coin token “rwm” " since it has the letters RWM on it (which seems to be for Roger Williams Mint, Attleboro, Ma). then googled “coin token “rwm” 5” and found this site .

Wow. My mind must have been out for a drive around town. It looks like a token!

I can’t seem to find any real details about this specific coin. Since it has no words, I am guessing that it is used as a “general” token for small establishments who can’t pay for a specific design?

Thanks again.

The google hit that got me the site said “Seymour’s Belmar Playland (family) RWM/5 Points al, 25mm”. Is it about 25mm? I was kinda bummed it doesn’t have pictures of all the tokens because that would have been so easy hehe.

I checked to see if the Roger Williams Mint was still in business and found their web site and they have general tokens you can buy or you can get custom ones.

No, it’s 13/16 of an inch or about twenty and a half millimeters.
