Where do I find a Rubik's Cube? (in Chicago specifically)

For those times when the other fuckers on the train are annoying me so much I can’t read, I’d like to have a backup. I think a RC would be a nice diversion, but I can’t for the life of me find them anywhere.

OK, I’ve only tried two places and one of them is out of business. I’ve got a list of places to call when work gets slow, but aside from high-end toy stores (you know, where the Montessori kids get dropped off while Mom’s getting her chi realigned), I can’t think of any place that would have them.

Amazon has them for $10 - is this really what I should expect to pay?

Yes, I will read all the tutorials I can on the internet before starting.

OTTOMH, places I have seen selling Rubik’s Cubes in the past few months

Kay Bee toys. I think this is a national chain.

Walmart

Target

$10 is the average price.

I saw them at the gift shop in the Children’s museum at Navy Pier. It was a year and a half ago, but you never know.

Don’t. Sovling a Rubik’s cube really isn’t that hard if you know the method. You’ll be able to knock them off in three minutes or less, and then you’ll quickly get bored manipulating it.

There seem to be a lot on E-bay

You can also mail-order them from the source: Rubiks.com (also has the 2x2x2, the 4x4x4, and the fragile 5x5x5 versions).

Any Toy store will have one, but I would stay away from the 2X2 as those are even worse then the 5X5. I’ve never played with a 4X4 since they are harder to come by.
