Where do my results fit in with the masses, re: Adult Fitness Test

I’ve taken the adult fitness test from the President’s Challenge Program. But now that I have results, I can’t find anyplace that lists what the results “should” be, or if I’m above or below average in any of these categories, or if I should go directly to the hospital or if I should sign up for the Olympics, etc. So, what’s the point? I need a set of averages to compare my results and I’ll be darned if I can find anything that would provide that. Dopers?

Would you please post a link?

I’m being careful because I don’t know the rules in GQ (about going political), but … ISTR that the current administration did away with the program a year or two ago. This might make finding the stats you seek a bit difficult.

Hmmm. That makes sense. I’ve had the thing on my desk for about three years and finally decided to do the thing. This site - President's Challenge - has the test on line but says to enter the results in a form, which apparently does not exist. Your government inaction.

I took a stab at a search, to see if you might get help this way. Maybe ?

Either way … FWIW … I think you’re “not only a powerful man/woman but a handsome man/woman.”

So … there’s that.

That test is based on the Cooper’s physical assessment test. It’s the same thing they use in law enforcement, so that’s where you’ll want to look for data.
The 40th Percentile Scores can be found here: https://www.bridgeportct.gov/filestorage/341650/341652/342117/341902/341916/New_Coopers_Standards.pdf

That should give you an idea of where you’re at.

Here are total percentiles for the push up and the 1.5 mile run. It seems to be missing the sit and reach, though. https://www.tucsonaz.gov/files/police/CooperStandards.pdf

Here’s a general score range for Sit and Reach:

Thanks for the efforts, folks. I don’t see any data in any of these that pertains to older folks. I’m 77 and I’m interested in how I stack up with others in that age group. Sit and Reach is not even part of the test. Nor is 1.5 mile run. I understand that it had been available up until a little over a year ago, so it seems as if the current group has eliminated still another vestige of the previous administration. Maybe in a few weeks it will be reinstated. Thanks, anyway. xo,
C.

You linked to a test with a 1.5 mile run (or 1 mile walk), pushups, half sit-ups, and the sit and reach. If thats not the test you took, why link to it? Do you have a link to the actual test you took? That would make it easier to find relevant data.

I don’t think I linked to anything. But I found the test I took. And I can’t find any data that provides average results. If you can, I’d love to see it.

Note that they tell you to enter your results on line and get access to an evaluation. That no longer exists so I’m curious about the results.

Not only did you link to a test on Dec 29th that contained the Sit and Reach, you’ve linked again to a test that contains… the Sit and Reach. This Adult Fitness test has the following events:
Mile Walk or 1.5 Mile Run
Half Sit-Ups
Push-Ups
Sit and Reach
BMI

If that is the test you took, then you can follow my previous links to get an idea of how you scored. There are also the YMCA assessment data which has these same events. You can enter your scores to get an overall grade and see the average for your age group.

Those are all the events on the President’s Challenge Adult Fitness Test that you’ve linked to twice. If those are not the events you completed, then maybe you did a different test.
