Where do you buy good belts?

The type to keep your pants up.

I’ve once again gone through my work belts and am moving into my dress belts. I always procrastinate getting a new one because I find it difficult to find reasonably priced ones that don’t fall apart in the first month or so.

I nned to find belts that don’t break or come un-threaded at the buckles. My last belt died tore at the holes which is acceptable to me it had a plenty long life, but when I drop 50 bucks for a strip of leather and the cheap ass buckle is the failure point it gets frustrating.

I generally don’t have issues with belts I use outside of work, they don’t end up having drills clipped on them or getting scraped up on casement tiles. I need belts that are rugged not ones to make a fashion statement.

So any stores better then others for finding decent belts? Any brand names that stand the test of time?

I’ve got one of these from Duluth Trading that’s going on three years.

Coach makes quality belts.

My wise-ass response is at a good bar!

But to be constructive, I’ll add that I’ve had very good wear from the belts available at L.L.Bean.

Moved Cafe Society --> IMHO.

Land’s End belts have stood me in good stead.

How about the belts cops wear? They hang lots of stuff off them.

This is what I came in to say.

I’ve had very good results with Carhartt belts. I’d try this place:

I buy a lot of stuff at Joseph A. Bank, which has pretty good prices at quality comparable to name brands at department stores.

The road I live on has several shops that sell nothing but belts. Guess that’s not very useful for you though!

I bought a Ralph Lauren men’s belt a few months ago at Filene’s Basement for like 75% off suggested retail. It’s holding up nicely, but no way would I have paid $98 for it!

Tanner Goods of Portland, Oregon. They hand-craft all of their leather goods, which includes a fair number of belts.

Like donuts…

google “tactical belts and accessories .” Cops generally use an inner and an outer belt with keepers to keep the two together. I have seen some belts made of nylon web or leather with either Velco fasteners or those clip-together plastic buckles like on backpacks or kid’s carseats. You should be able to find something there.

Old Navy. Good quality basic belts. I have two of them. Each one is about 3 years old. They’re still in good shape.

Me too. I love my Coach belts.
