My wife wants me to pick her up the newest novel by her favorite author that was released today. So where will I get the cheapest price?
I know Barnes and Noble will charge me full retail. How about Target, Walmart? Are they much cheaper?

Generally, the lowest prices come up for Overstock.com, which also offers low shipping charges. Amazon and others offer free shipping for orders over $25. And clicking on its “Buy new or used” link often comes up with the lowest prices of all, although you have to watch shipping costs.
I just bought Neal Stephenson’s The Confusion from Overstock.com because a price comparison showed that with shipping it was lower cost than the lowest price at Amazon. Base price $16.69 compared to $17.33 at alldirect, and lower shipping.
Can’t guarantee this for every book, of course.
