I recently sent a package through the mail and I’m pretty sure it’s gotten lost. Is there someone I can contact about it?
How about starting with the post office?
Apparently it goes to France.
At least that is where my mis-routed order from Barnes & Noble went while on its way from new Jersey to the Caribbean. It arrived, beaten and battered, after four months.
Do you literally mean totally undeliverable mail with no way to identify either the sender or the recipient? It usually bounces around for a month or two until finally being marked undeliverable at some point and then sent for destruction. It is actually pretty rare(stuff like a Street with no number, only a last name which matches no current or previous resident on the street etc).
If it had a tracking or delivery confirmation number you’ll get more luck, if you had neither of those you just pray it shows up in the next few months and if not kiss it goodbye. Call the post office you mailed it from, not an 800 number, ask nicely to speak to someone and give them the number.
I once got lucky with a missing laptop with not only DC# but sig confirmation on it, showed up online as delivered in the wrong zip code with a totally wrong name as the signed for. Called the PO I shipped from(not 800#) explained the issue, guy agreed it was bizarre and he gave me the direct phone# and info for the mail substation it was signed for at. Called there and explained situation and gave info, woman not only remembered the package but said it was signed for by a new worker for a company that handled mail pickup for the building it was sent to(now we are getting somewhere!) she gave name and contact number for company. Called company and explained the issue, laptop was delivered to recipient the next day(after more than three days missing).
Here is the key, be nice to the postal workers and clearly explain the issue, they aren’t all disgruntled.
