Where draw the line? (on stigmatizing Trumpists)

I feel that the specific architecture of Velocity’s house creates a geometric nexus for infernal energy that will be concentrated over time until a transdimensional wormhole opens into a Hell universe and allow armies of demons to pour through into our doomed world. I feel this very, very strongly. I am therefore entirely justified in burning down the house in order to save the lives of every man, woman, and child on Earth.

The Capitol insurrectionists had just as much rational basis for their actions.

Modnote: Please don’t insult other posters even when they are glaringly wrong.

This is just a guidance, not a warning. Nothing on your permanent record.

This is your story? What am I supposed to think about people who will go kill a policeman and smear their own shit on the Capitol’s interior walls just because a random stranger “egged them on?” What kind of excuse is that?

Your story is untrue, but you did make a very true point about Trump supporters being gullible and easily influenced toward violence. That’s why I want these people as far away from me as possible.

That’s some interesting alternate history going on.

  • Maxine Waters didn’t.
  • Chuck Schumer didn’t.
  • Rand Paul was but not as political violence.
  • Hodgkinson did shoot Scalise. He wasn’t acting as part of an organized call for violence. Also,

" Speaker of the House Paul Ryan before their afternoon session and said, “An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.” Members of both parties rose in applause to his remarks."

Perhaps consider getting new sources of information.

You know, this is sort of leaning into something that I’m starting to suspect…which is that the violence this summer, which started weeks into the series of peaceful protests - was fomented by outside agitators with the goal of discrediting the movement.

There’s more than one way to look at this story.

And the entire false equivalence is pissing me off. Neither Joe Biden or Kamala Harris attended or spoke at a BLM protest or rally, they never made common cause with them other than offering broad support for racial equality and police reform and they specifically did NOT endorse “Defund the Police”.

For the most part the BLM crowd didn’t like Biden and stated an intention not to support him, which is why Biden/Harris stayed so close to center, they needed anti-Trump Republicans.

Moderating: This kind of comment is not allowed outside the pit. I will refrain from a formal warning, but don’t do it again.

Apologies, I thought I was in the Pit.
