Where Have I Seen that Actress Before?

I am an Angel the Series fan, but I didn’t start watching until Season 4. I’ve been catching up on DVDs lately and just started Season 3. I’m bebobing along and suddenly a new character, Justine Cooper, is introduced.

Gee, she looks familar, I think. She and Holtz scuffle and then start talking and it suddenly strikes me. That’s Tina from The L Word! A quick imdb check confirms that, yep, it’s Laurel Holloman in both cases!

So which actor or actress has given you an Aha! moment?

Majel Barret Roddenberry as the computer voice in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Was cool to see Lwaxana go up to a panel, ask the computer a question and hear the very same voice answer her.

Somehow, I already knew it was her as the voice, but that ep really made it stand up and give me an A-Ha!

All right, first of all, don’t laugh*.

I was watching Mystery Men and I kept thinking, jeeze, that waitress looks familiar (the one who Ben Stiller was trying to get together with.) My daughter walked through the room and said, “Hey, that’s the girl from Mallrats.” She said she didn’t recognize the looks, it was the voice that tipped her off.

(*I’m slightly embarrassed to admit I love both these movies.)

Just in case you missed it, here’s a recent thread.

To add to it, I’ll submit James McEachin.

He has a great kinda twangy voice. He’s probably best-known as the NASA administrator in “2010: The Year We Make Contact,” who asks Roy Scheider if he wants to swap jobs. He usually played authoritative figures.

In an episode of “All in the Family,” Archie has to see someone about a job or something. The “official” he ends up seeing is Black, so ol’ Arch decides he’s gonna get on his good side and ends up offering him some watermelon!

The official answers back, “No thanks, Mr. Bunker. I don’t like watermelon. . . But if it makes you feel any better, I luuuuuuv friiiiiiiied chicken!”

I didn’t remember the actor from that role, and had no idea who he was, but seeing McEachin in some rerun recently, I happened to think of that ep from “AitF.” The voice was so damnably familiar. So, I looked it up on IMDB, and sure enough, that was McEachin.

Claire Forlani, one of the most beautiful actresses out there. She has a very small role as Sean Connery’s daughter in The Rock, and she was the love interest in Meet Joe Black, although I haven’t seen it. Come to think of it, she doesn’t seem to take too many roles, but she is drop-dead gorgeous.
