My computer has somehow “lost” all fonts except for one, which is making my browser look like hell. When I use MSWord, there are no choice of font apart from Times Roman. What the hell is going on, and how do I get them back??? Computer gurus reply now…
Have you tried running a search for them in explorer? Look in recycle bin too. If they are gone, download them off the internet, you obviously have internet access and it only takes a couple minutes.
Hopefully you know this, but “when in doubt, reboot!”
A couple of my applications (Corel PhotoPaint in particular) like to lose all their fonts once in a while. MSWord likes to screw up the fonts so they look like they’re slanted up at a 45 degree angle and don’t work right. Generally, a reboot does the trick.
From which site can I download fonts?
Paint Shop Pro likes to lose all my fonts. It generally does it every time if it is on for more than 20 minutes or so. Rebooting always brings them back.
A search for “fonts” on any search engine will bring up thousands of font download sites.

This happened to me once. I had my default printer accidently set to a very old printer, which couldn’t understand TrueType fonts, so the computer wouldn’t display them. Try selecting a more capable printer and see what happens.
