It starts out with Obama “admitting” that he is not an American citizen, but was born in Kenya. It is, of course, as fake as an eleventy dollar bill. I have mentioned this, but my friend is adamant that “He said it himself!”
Does anybody know what the venue is, and what he was actually saying, and if the original video is online anywhere, so I can present some concrete evidence of the tampering?
Creative editing to serve a political agenda. No matter how many verifiable facts you present, your friend will not believe them. Just pat them on the head and say, “there, there.”
I kinda like that there are people who can believe that Obama’s family engaged in a long lasting, intricate conspiracy to make it appear that he was born in the US so that he could fifty odd years later manage to finagle his way in the Presidency and then accidentally mention several times in a speech that he wasn’t actually born in the US.
But in anycase, the OP didn’t ask what he should do about his friend, he asked for the source of the video, which appears to be here
I suspect your friend will theorize that the WH has edited the audio to cover up the offending quotes. But it might be kinda fun to show him anyways so that you can bask in the cognitive dissonance.
And the press would then completely ignore the admission even after devoting extensive time to the conspiracy theories regarding Obama’s birth. (He’s actually about to turn 49, by the way.) We’re dealing in trivialities at this point but the caption on the YouTube video even says “The video starts out with some content from obamasnippets.com, which, of course is contrived.” So the person who posted the video obviously believes Obama is not a natural born citizen, but still admits the video is not real.
Thanks for the link, Simplicio. I daresay, as others have pointed out, it will make little difference. But I want to at least try. If it doesn’t do any good in the convincing department, it will at least be interesting watching her head asploszh.
Let us know what she says. I have kind of a weird fascination with the mental contortions people can make themselves go through to avoid changing their opinions.
My reply to her with the link to the White House video has been deleted from her Wall. From her I get:
"I won’t talk anymore…Sorry, but there is info on both sides about fraud and speculation and my posts have been removed by FB that do bare [sic] witness. So…I have no more to say. I refuse to discuss an individual who is falsely in office and “Any man ( or woman) convinced against his will is of the same opinion still”
