Where is this rock pillar? What is it called? It’s in California, I believe.
This may be an easier picture to recognize.
I’m pretty sure the commenter who posted after this is right that it is Squaw Tank in Joshua Tree. I myself was drawn to that area as being one of the only places in California with that combination of geology and aridity but couldn’t find the exact location. The twin-peaked mountain at the left here Google Maps is almost an exact replica of the one in the picture, down to the white gullies in the center, and the mountains further in the background are close enough to match when you take angle into account.
I’ve done several image searches. From these, I don’t think it is Squaw Tank in JTNP.

I went through JTNP a couple of months ago and I must say, the boulders there are similar to those in the OP.
