Doesn’t cost that much to resize. I got mine made a bit larger, and then shrank it again.
Lost to a burglary, about 25 years ago.
Oddly enough I ordered one in HS and the jewelry store was supposed to call me when it was finished. Sixty years later I am still waiting for them to call. By the time I finished college I realized I had better things to do with my money.
I went with ‘It’s gone, but I remember where I saw it last’.
I even know roughly where it is. Just east of Green High School in the ditch beside Rt 23 on the west bound side.
I was kind of mad at the time but later reflection made me think she had a legitimate beef.
I only got one in HS because my girlfriend wanted to wear it. She gave it back when she dumped me. My wife has it somewhere. I don’t think my college had class rings.
High school ring in my wife’s jewelry box. Stopped wearing it first semester of college.
College ring wear every day.
Professional school, didn’t get one.
I’m sure that Josten’s will quite happily sell you a $500 ring for the Imaginary College of Nowhere’s Underwater Basket-Weaving program. As long as there’s a transfer of money involved, they’ll find a way. ![]()
I never got one. Not sure why, it was a combination of factors. I never liked rings generally (the only ring I’ve ever worn is my wedding ring) and our family was going through a difficult financial period around the time of my senior year of high school.
Mine’s in a small cedar box Lane gave away to my senior class with pins and things I was awarded that year, but otherwise the same. I haven’t worn it in 18 years, but I’m glad I know where it is.
I wear my college class ring most days. My HS ring is in a box of mementos. It hasn’t been worn since I got the college ring.
I was desperate for money, and had it melted down as “scrap gold.” I hated high school, anyway!
So did I!
I have it – it’s in my ring tray – but don’t wear it any more. It just seems weird to wear a high school class ring when my class is talking about what to do for its 30-year reunion (2017!).
Never got a college ring. It wasn’t high on my list of things I wanted.
Mine was stolen in boot camp in 1967, so I know where I saw it last.
I never bought one - the only ones offered were in ‘palladium plus’ with faux ruby.
I do have my grandmother’s college sorority lavalier, and my mothers college class ring, and a lovely imperial jade ring set in gold that was used to ‘secure a loan’ that was used to bribe someone’s way out of China back in the 1950s. I just do not like wearing any sort of jewelry, so it all stays locked up in a safe deposit box. The jade ring I look upon as emergency bribe material if things go south badly sometime.
Sold it long ago for trendy botanical amusement aids. Don’t miss the ugly p.o.s. one bit.
eta: I generally don’t wear jewelry of any kind, never have.
It’s probably in a drawer somewhere, but I can’t recall the last time I saw it. I don’t think I’ve worn it in 25 years.
My high school ring is in my dresser drawer. It’s too small to wear. I never had a college ring.
I didn’t get one. I wanted one briefly when most of my friends were ordering theirs. My parents said I had to pay for it myself. I had better things to do with my money. I have never regretted it.
I didn’t get one for high school. I do have a college ring, with a small faceted oval stone, clearly a college ring but one of the nicer I’ve seen. It’s with my other rings. I wear it when the color is right for what I’m wearing.
I have mine in my jewelry box. I don’t wear it anymore, but it’s one of those sentimental things. It’s a very pretty ring, too.
