Where is your TV?

From my observation, a distinct majority of people (in the US, anyway) put their TV in one of the front rooms of the house; usually the living room. A small minority tuck their TV away somewhere private (I am a member of that group; my TV is in the 2nd floor sitting room) and a very small minority have no TV at all. How about you?

Den, adjacent to living room, converted to home theater.

My TV is in the living room.
And the kitchen.
And den/library/office.
And the master bedroom.

Living room, viewable from kitchen, listenable from den.

There is one downstairs, but we don’t go down there often. I think it still works.

One in the living room, one in our room and one in our roommates room.

We have far too many tvs. There’s one in each bedroom (three), one in the living room, and one in the dining/family room. Three people live in this house. Blame it on my parents who love to buy tvs, and hate to be out of sight or hearing range of one. I joked that they would like a tv in the bathroom, and they took it seriously and agreed.

So that’s five tvs. I speculate that one day they will join with the two computers and take over the house.

One TV, four people. The TV is in the Front Room (pronounced “Fronchroom”) - a room that only Chicagoans have, analogous to everyone else’s Living Room. Except that we hardly “live” in it - it’s mostly the tv watching/XBOX playing room. We “live” in our dining room, which is also the office, craft room and play room.

Technically, I have do not have a TV. But I do use my computer to watch DVDs. It’s in the bedroom.

In a landfill, for the past two years.

Respectfully, I believe you are starting from the false premise that people have either one TV or none- everyone I know has a TV in every room except the bathroom.

I’m ashamed to say we have five TVs…one in the living room, one in the girl’s room, one in the stepson’s room, one in the master bedroom, and one in the everlovin’ bathroom!

I for one could get along swimmingly without any TV whatsoever (yes, even without American Idol!), but I married into a TV obsessed family. My husband and stepkids need to have a TV in operation near them at all times.

I’ve learned to fall asleep with the TV on, and I am encouraging my husband to stay in the living room and watch some TV with the kids after dinner. Otherwise, everyone retires to their own rooms and shuts the door. :frowning:

When I first moved into my current apartment, I was trying to explain the layout to my niece over the phone. She just wasn’t getting it. When she asked where my TV was, I said it was at the foot of my bed.

“Your TV is in the bedroom?”

“No, my bed is in the living room.”

“THAT’S SO COOL!”

Family room. Not living room*

No tv’s in any bedroom.

*We do not have children yet, so this may change soon.

Ours is in the living room. I had one in my computer/music room until a couple of weeks ago, when I took it off the wall mount to replace it with a speaker, so I can sit with the speakers facing me to play drums. That TV hadn’t been turned on in at least seven years. My wife has a portable TV/DVD player in the bedroom that she plans to use to watch DVDs while walking on the treadmill, but the cable doesn’t run into the bedroom. I’ll bet her TV hasn’t had eight hours of “on” time.

My tv is in my bedroom. I also have one in the guest room. I don’t want one in the living room. As much tv as I watch(too much probably), it drives me nuts to have one on when I’m trying to have a conversation with someone. My parents have gotten into the habit of leaving the tv on through dinner.

TV in Living room, den, 3 bedrooms, computer montors (2) are wired for TV and My cell phone can get TV so technically sometimes it is in the Bathroom. Also, all cable with all movie channels and 3 DVRs 4 DVDs and 2 VCRs + Hardrive can record from PCs.

I once joked that TV was my religion. When my granddaughter (13) was asked her religion by her friends, she said very matter of factly, “TV”.

Oh, and in my camper, with built in DVD.

Way too many TVs:

Living Room (my TV)
Kitchen (everyone watches this one, but mostly me)
Family room (husband’s TV)
Guest/playroom (daughter’s TV)
Son’s room (son’s TV)

Two people, one TV in the living room and one in the (finished) basement.

We wouldn’t have two, but my husband and I don’t like the same stuff. Basically, he likes flipping channels and avoiding commercials. He’ll watch something until an ad comes on, then he’ll switch and watch something else until he sees an ad. The only exception is football. He’ll even watch a Tivo’d game and then he sits through the ads!

It’s in the living room, which sometimes becomes the bedroom when I fall out on the couch. There’s only the one satellite feed wire thingie. But it’s just me in a one BR apartment so I only need one.
