Here’s what happened:
Being that June 20th was our anniversary, I decided to take the wife out for dinner. Fine and dandy except, approximately four blocks from home, a nice induhvidual was kind enough to zip around a curve in MY lane. Seeing that I could either sweve to the right and roll the van in a ditch, or, swerve left and hit a pole, I chose the pole.
Consequences? My wife’s right ankle, which was handicapped to begin with, was broken in three places. Both sides and the top. She ended up having surgery and we are damn sure hoping that she’ll one day walk again. I ended up with a bruised lung and heart as well as torn cartilage in my chest.
All I can say is that we’re both VERY thankful to be alive. It’s also a damn good thing that my kids are all teenagers as neither of us was able to do anything for a few weeks.
In any case, I’m baaaaaack!
