Where there's smoke, there's.....Mickey?

Just some pointless information in the life of screech-owl (not quite Pit-ty, and definitely mundane).

(former)Roommate and I have plans to go to DisneyWorld tomorrow. All parks, all day. Early morning at Animal Kingdom, noon at the Magic Kingdom, afternoon at MGM Studios and evening at EPCOT for the millenium parade. (We’ve been before and were going to catch the new attractions we hadn’t seen yet, skipping some of the others.) A day of healthy, wholesome yummy fun at all the parks, right?

Guess what?

There is a [at this moment] 350 acre brushfire two miles west of the Magic Kingdom, spewing smoke all over the parks, and I can even smell the smoke at my work 35 miles from the Happy Ratland complex.

I’d go another day, but I promised (f)R I’d take him there for his birthday. He picked tomorrow because Paul Revere and the Raiders (his favorite oldies band) were playing at EPCOT, and that’s my only time off while they were in town.

And Disney is keeping the parks open, but telling the hotel guests to keep their balcony doors and windows closed, otherwise the smoke detectors keep going off.

Sigh. Maybe the lines will be short.
