Where to get a $25 vegetarian lunch in Ann Arbor?

OK, so my co-workers and I had a bet to see who could lose the most weight in two months. The prize is a free lunch of up to $25 in value (to help gain back the weight lost, I guess). And I won! (21 lbs. lost :D)

So now I need to decide where to go for my victory lunch . . . the only problem is that I can’t even think of the last time I spent $25 on lunch. (I could always spend less, of course, but I want to make the most of my prize).

So that’s my question for you: If you had $25 to spend on one lunch in Ann Arbor, MI, where would you go? I’m an egg-and-dairy eating vegetarian, so please take that into account.

How about Seva? I haven’t eaten there in a couple of years, but it’s been good every time I’ve been there.

Seva for sure. The food won’t run you that much, but you can get a couple glasses of wine or something and you’ll probably be around $25.

Or you can buy me lunch too.

Man, I looked at that menu and now I want to move to Ann Arbor.

Seva is a good choice, though you are going to have to delve into “beverages” to hit the $25 mark. Another good choice is the Prickly Pear Cafe, I beleive they offer vegetarian dishes as well, though not as many as Seva. You’l still be hard pressed to spend $25 on lunch itself without going someplace that will serve you some eggs or meat.

I once had a fantastic huevos rancheros at Seva. I’m surprised no one has mentioned it yet.

Congrats! 21 pounds in 2 months, well done. Maybe you won’t want to order the chocolate raspberry hazlenut torte I think I saw on their menu, if you want to keep them off.

Enchiladas Calabaza 12.95
Veggie Nirvana with Hummus 8.95
Cheesecake with Blueberry Sauce 4.95

Not hard to hit 25 at all.

/me burps

That is a very nice menu they have there, too. I may b a rampant carnivore but I have no objection to meals with no meat.

That place looks fantastic, and for the first time I am excited by the idea of vegan salami. O.o

OK, you all have convinced me. Seva it is

Thanks for the suggestions (even if it was mostly the same suggestion over-and-over ;)).

What, no mention of Seva?

Another alternative could be The Blue Nile, if you’re into Ethiopian food. Tasty stuff!

Blue Nile is wonderful, but best enjoyed with a group.

I ate here when I was interviewing back in December. Sooooooo good. But like Kyla said, it’s the type of place you’re better off going to with a group of people. Also as a warning: those teff crepes basically expand in your stomach afterwards. I was seriously ill the next day and I barely made a dent in my food. A little goes a long way with Ethiopian food.
