Where to have Thanksgiving dinner in San Francisco?

We will be in the city over the Thanksgiving holiday and we aren’t sure where to eat the “big dinner.” Does anyone have a suggestion? I’m not sure if people will want traditional Thanksgiving fare or traditional SF fare!

If it matters, we will have two small, very well-behaved children with us (5 & 8).

Thanks for your help!!!

You’re welcome to come to our dinner. We have a pot luck for the extended family at a nearby church hall. There are usually three or four dozen folks and always a few strays (you don’t have to bring a thing! It’ll be a great deal and I guarantee you’ll be very welcome and well fed!).

Since my family is in the Bay Area, I can’t imagine going “out” for Thanksgiving.

Let me know, I’m serious!

I live on the wrong coast, and already have plans, but this thread is really cool.

sunacres, thanks for the offer, but there are 9 of us and my mom would kill me for imposing THAT on a stranger! I too am finding it hard to imagine dining out instead of having a 2.5 day ordeal that results in one meal!

We are looking at some hotels to see what they offer.

My suggestions:

Home

XYZ

One Market

Make your reservations ASAP.

OK, I just have to ask. Why would an extended family go to/be in SF over the Thanksgiving holiday. If it’s to personal, then nevermind.

Not at all! Here goes-

My husband, my MIL and I have some business to attend to in SF Saturday through Tuesday. We are taking our two boys, and were planning on coming home and gearing up for Thanksgiving. My parents, brother, SIL & hubby would be joining us.

First- my brother is notified by his employer that he will be spending Thanksgiving in Nigeria.

Next- my parents decide to accept an invitation from some friends in Hawai’i.

Then- my other SIL will be dropping her first child any second now, and will NOT be flying or driving to SoCal any time soon.

So, we have decided to just not come home on Tuesday! We are going to stay through the Saturday after the Big Dinner, and that way we can include the new baby & new parents, plus the younger SIL & her husband will come up to meet us.

Whew!
Thanks psycat90, I have heard of Home but have never been there. It looks yummy! ETA- holy cow! The other two look great! We are definitely heading there, if not on Thanksgiving then during the week!

For the old-fashioned eat-until-it-hurts meal I recommend Caesar’s

Reservations are required for the holiday, but they manage to cover all the bases for a T’giving meal

We had Thanksgiving one year at the Cliff House. The food was good and the scenery was very nice (while the sun was out, at least).
