Where was Jack Lengyel born/raised?

Title says it all. All my Googling will tell me is that he was a U. of Akron graduate.

Huh. It’s surprisingly difficult to find an answer to this. All I could tell you is “Lengyel” is a Hungarian name that means “Polish.” Ohio seems like a reasonable guess, given the relatively large Hungarian population there (Cleveland has one of the highest number of Hungarians outside Hungary) and the fact that he graduated from a school there and coached at the college of Wooster in Ohio. But this is just an educated guess.

Akron OH. Born around 1935. His father and mother were living here in 1937. Father Nick, mother Mary. I have access to city directories on line.

Edited to add–his parents were in the 1933 directory, so he must have been born here. Lengyels, as an immigrant group, show up in the Metro Cleveland area between 1900 and 1910. Some moved to Akron probably when the rubber jobs came about in the WWI period.
