The majority of textile manufacturing moved from North America and Europe to Asia Pacific over the last 10 years. Textile workers in the US and Europe are antiques except for some specialty niche manufacturers.

It is cheaper for the U.S. consumer to import clothes made in Asia Pacific, than it is to manufacture them locally.

I’m wearing a “Hawaiian” shirt purchased in Pennsylvania, made in Korea (I assume South) of all places.

I’m wearing a Hanes tank top made in Cambodia. I’m in the US but oddly the tag is written in Spanish.
