I’m only asking because I responded to him in the Dating Advice thread, and everything he posted there is now gone. Searching his name shows him as banned, but -some- of his posts are still listed… Which I guess makes me at least feel I didn’t hallucinate his existence. Still… Wha happened?

If we can do it without interrupting the conversation too much, yes, we will. We might even remove whole threads from view. It’s because this is the most effective tool we’ve got to discourage trolls and socks. Trolls and socks feed on attention.

Hell, I remember when we used to delete the letters of the alphabet they used in their names. I’m glad we put a stop to that when we got down to 26 letters.

We ask that posters send us private messages to get answers to questions like these. But yes, I removed some of his posts. I apologize for disrupting the thread he was posting in and removing some posts that people spent time composing, but in this case I wanted to make sure the poster isn’t rewarded with attention in response to his nonsense. It’s a little extra effort - I wanted to make sure this person leaves and stays gone.
