I’m in the UK, where this series is just about to start. I’m another one who liked Danson in Damages but … I have this problem that whatever part he plays I can’t forget that he is Ted Danson. I don’t know whether it’s his looks or something else. It’s not his acting per se but every time he’s on screen this little voice in the back of my head goes “that’s Ted Danson, that is.” I really hope it keeps quiet so I can watch this new CSI.
I’ve actually liked all three leads. Like a business when a new president/CEO comes in, things change, get less comfortable (for some), take on a different focus. I liked Fishburne’s darkness and intensity. I had to pay attention unlike some of the other Sci-Fi forensic shows where I can cruise the interwebs while still keeping up with the “plot”. And Danson is so “different”. They should mess up his hair more, the mad scientist look becomes him. It would be a real play on his “perfect” hair from the Cheers days.
I believe that he owns a piece of the action on the original series, not sure about the spin-offs. He made over half a million per episode ads an actor so he’ll probably be OK.
Yeah, Petersen is still an executive producer of CSI. He officially left to do stage acting. Not sure how much of that he’s doing.
Heck, Sam Simon is still listed as an executive producer of The Simpsons, despite severing his ties with the show’s production back in 1993. He still gets a sizable chunk of the show’s revenues, was briefly married to a Playboy playmate, pays high-stakes poker and runs a charity that rescues stray dogs. If Petersen’s doing half that well, he gets no pity from me.
I think she’s his wife’s sister. When he first shows up at the mock crime scene she said “I know you don’t make social calls unless you want to make your wife happy and I don’t see her around”
Yeah, “miscast” was the wrong term. I really meant what you said. The character was awful.
