Aw, man. Now I want my bowels torn open.
About all I can think of would be cookies or candy. Just no nuts or coconut. But its really not necessary.
Hang in there.
Somebody sent me a mess of cookies and candy. Unfortunately the return address is a Costco, and there doesn’t seem to be a card, so I don’t know who sent it.
On the off chance it was somebody here, I want to thank you.
Try asking for something specific and see what happens, like a signed John Lennon record from the 70s, or a puppy, or a pony.
I found out who it was. It wasn’t anyone here.
It’s ok, we hope you still enjoy them
! How are you feeling anyway? Are you getting sprung anytime in the near future?
Oh good, that removes the temptation to make a false claim.
This sounds like quite the ordeal. I hope you continue to make progress.
I walked a good distance today in PT. It’s definitely much easier than when I started therapy. It was with a walker but I expect to be using one for a while even after I’m home. The eventual goal of course is to be back where I was before all of this.
I was not fond of my therapists at first; they really pushed me.
If you like your physical therapists, odds are that they’re not doing you much good.
Very true.
I hope you mean “in their official capacity”, 'cause I like the one I’m married to pretty well and she does me a world of good! ![]()
davidm, I am truly sorry you’re having to go through this. Stick to the rehab, though, even when you don’t want to. It WILL pay off.
Mais oui! I work closely with 3 therapists with my patients. They do my patients good and are fun to be colleagues with.
WOW David that’s such a great update! It seems like you’re making swift progress, though I realize it must surely be a challenge.
Just keep doing what you’re doing, because I think you’re doing awesome!
Yeah, very good to hear that you’re making good progress in walking. I’m sure that must feel good!
I’ve had a bit of a setback. I had a bad night and I couldn’t complete my PT this morning.
Then I found out that they’ve been giving me the wrong dose of one of my meds.
They were confused about micrograms per millimeter, if you can believe that.
Damn. You need a malpractice attorney on retainer.![]()
Are there any actual medical personnel with actual degrees where you are, davidm? These people give new meaning to “practicing” medicine.
I had my brother bring in my supply from home because it’s unusual enough that hospital and rehab center pharmacies never carry it (I have to order it from a specialty pharmacy). It turns out that, oddly enough, the pharmacy here does carry it.
When they were using mine, the dose was right. The problem occurred when they started using their own. The concentration was different but they continued giving me the same dose. Fortunately they eventually realized their error.
I will give them some credit for actually telling me about the error. They could have just fixed the dose and said nothing.
I suppose they had to change the dose in the orders so they felt that, since there was a written record they were better off telling me.
Oy. I said something about this sort of thing happening earlier. I hope you don’t let it get you down. The thing about recovery is, for whatever reason, you are going to have some setbacks. But I think you have an overall fantastic attitude, so I’m sure you’ll get thru all this. Best wishes for the holidays!!
