Happy news!! Thank you for keeping us posted.

Now you can use the car to go for fast food :D.
That **MamaZappa **, she’s a smart one !!
Heartfelt congratulations on your advances! What a tough road.
Happy New Year. This is awesome.
I saw the surgeon today. The peg tube (stomach tube) hole is all healed up. So I’m pretty much done healing, at least externally.
She told me something today. The day I woke up was the day they were going to decide whether or not to give up and turn off the respirator. So this was a very close call. She said it was a miracle and that she will always remember this case.
I don’t believe in miracles, but damn.
Perhaps karma apologizing for the surgery screw up.
I’m glad you healed up (another milestone checked off :)). That’s some freaky shit the surgeon shared. It sounds like you beat the odds. Good for you.
Wow. Glad you decided to stay around.
I’m now getting disability, SNAP, and free medical so I’m shutting down the GoFundMe campaign. Thank you to everyone who helped me get over the hump.
<thumbs up emoji>
I just now found out that I’m losing the SNAP and the free medical because of the SSDI payments. I’ll have to go to the federal exchange for medical coverage. The SNAP isn’t a big deal but I’m very concerned about what the medical coverage will cost me.
I think if your income is from SSDI that your medical coverage costs should be lower. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Thanks. I hope you’re right. The woman at the state office said that they’d be sending my info to the feds and that I should call healthcare.gov in a few days. The fact that they’re sending my info to the feds may mean that you’re right.
I’m relieved to learn you got on disability, though I know there’s an emotional cost.
When is the two-year mark for your date of entitlement? At that point, you should be able to get on Medicare (regardless of age). I’m guessing it’s coming up within the year, right?
October of this year. I just got a lump sum SSDI payment for the period from October 2017 to date, and I’ll be getting monthly payments from here on, so I should be able to pay for even relatively expensive insurance from now till October.
Oh, good. And I don’t think it’ll be very expensive, given that you’re on SSDI.
I’m glad you’ve gotten financial relief. How are you feeling otherwise now?
Better, but far from perfect. I’m eating normally. I’m taking a lot of medicine every day including 2 different injectables. I sleep a lot.
How are you doing, davidm? I hope that since you’ve not posted to this thread since March that means things are going better for you!
