Where's davidm? In the hospital recovering from a medical screwup.

Thank you for the concern.

I’m getting by. I’m at the point where any expected improvements have already occurred. I’m on disability and Medicare. I’d rather support myself but we play with the hand we’re dealt.

I’m eating pretty much normally.

Because I lost abdominal muscle I’ve developed several hernias. I’m told that they’re harmless and that the risks of trying to fix them wouldn’t be worth the minimal gains, so I’ll have to live with them, along with all the pills, injections, and dietary complications.

At the same time I’m kind of enjoying what amounts to retirement. I get to read, surf the web, watch movies, build models, and of course post here, so it’s not all bad.

Good thoughts, blessings, and prayers for you this season, davidm. May joy override your troubles.

Yes, Merry Christmas and a healthier new year.

Thank you.

Another wish for a merry Christmas. Glad to see you on the other side of such a dark journey.

I’m glad to hear you’re doing well. I like Celtic Knot’s expression so well, I’m going to start using it. May your joys override your troubles!

Glad to hear it! Ever since you posted this thread (two years ago!) I’ve worried about you.

I’ve been wondering, as well. I’m glad you were able to get on disability, sad you had to do so. Happy Holidays!

I’m in the ER with stomach pains.

I do hope they diagnose and treat you quickly and correctly, and that it’s something minor and easily remedied. Hang in there.

Ditto. Chin up.

After all you’ve been through, stomach pains must be pretty scary. Please let us know how you’re doing. You have people who care about you here.

Hugs to you; this has to be terrifying. Keep us posted.

Kidney stones!

Yaay!

This is probably the first and last time where I’m glad to see that, KWIM?

No direct GI issues, at least. Get well soon.

The kidney stones could be from dehydration, so it may be sort of GI related.
There’s no sign of infection so they’re sending me home with a pain med prescription and I’ll need to follow up with their urology department.

As if you needed more pain in your life! Glad it’s something temporary. Hope it’s not TMI, but did you pass the stones yet?

Not as far as I know. The cat scan showed one stone, medium sized. They gave me this little screen thing to pee through so if I haven’t already passed it I’ll probably see it when I do.

Good luck getting that bad stone out. Fingers crossed.
