Where's everybody from?

It’s in the north of the West Country as I understand it. In it has a north coast and is to the north of Dorset. I wouldn’t include Gloucestershire or Herefordshire in the West Country at all (though I see on Wikipedia some would, but there’s no hard and fast definition). YMMV.

There’s one of those in Sheffield (the UK one) where I’m from but I bet you’re in a different one.

Edited to add that Google suggests I’m wrong

Small town in the Northeast of England.

I don’t know if I can answer the question. I lived 3 months where I was born and haven’t been back since, so I wouldn’t say that’s where I’m from.

I’ve lived in many places throughout my 50 years, both inside the US and out, many in stints of a year or two. I currently live in New Jersey and, at nine plus years, this is easily the place I’ve lived the longest. NJ doesn’t, however, feel like home to me, nor does any other place in the US; I am simply here as a means to an end.

I am Currently slowly, painfully slowly, working toward my goal of going back to Japan, where I hope to retire. Although not the reality, in my fantasies I’m from Japan. Does that count?

Yeah. That counts.

I’m not sure, I’m still not familiar with the UK. Been here just over a year and a half so far, and I don’t get out much.

I suppose if others are giving their whole life route, I can do the same:

Born in Pennsylvania
Lived in PA, South Carolina, North Carolina, Connecticut, Washington (state), Idaho (briefly), and Washington again.
Moved to Winterpeg, Manitscoldout, Canada, lived there 11 years and became a citizen about two years before immigrating again to Scotland. At least that makes me a member of the Commonwealth, so I can vote here.

The San Francisco area is lovely. I’ve been there twice, wish I could have stayed longer and experienced more of the area. It was a nice change from Manitoba.

Hi neighbor! I’m in the snooty section midway between San Jose and SF

Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs (Bellwood, Elmhurst), attended NIU, now living in NW Wyoming. So I guess there are TWO of us here where the deer and the antelope play. I feel a little less isolated.

I was born in Savannah, Georgia and moved to Western PA when I was 3.

I lived in PA, bouncing all around the Pittsburgh area, until I was 27, when I moved to Dickinson. That’s a small town south of Houston, TX. I liked living only 7 miles from Johnson Space Center – pretty neat to go shopping and run into astronauts!

After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita came screaming through I moved to Los Angeles for a year. I started out in West LA, then moved to Little Armenia and finally to an area 6 blocks from the tar pits. LOVED living there but had to move to upstate NY to help a sick friend. Anybody ever heard of Watertown? I lived at Ft Drum, which is north of there.

On my way back to LA I stopped back home to visit my grandmother in Western PA and am still here, 4 years later.

I want to go back to California!

Born in Peterborough, Ontario. Lived in various places in Southern Ontario all my life. Would like to go to someplace exotic like Australia or Nunavut or Thailand (okay, maybe not Thailand–I don’t get along well with heat and high humidity), but need to get a job first…

Living life in NJ.
If I cross the Hudson or the Delaware, alarms go off & sniper teams mobilize.

Born and raised in Houston, TX. I’ve lived in several foreign countries and in Austin, TX, but I’m back in Houston and here I’ll stay.

I live in Sydney but I grew up in the UK.

East central MN. I was born a little north of where I’m at now and my family lived in TX for a bit but it’s like you can never really LEAVE MN. Just about everybody I grew up with moved away at some point only to come right back.

I’m from Monticello. Are you somewhere around there?

Born and raised in Elmhurst. Went to York High School. Haven’t been back there since, although I will always be a die-hard Cubs fan.

I was born in New York and I’ve always lived here, although in several different parts of the state.

You are just about 70 miles from me in a general southwest direction. I’m 50 miles northeast of St. Cloud.

Well, now I’m in Maple Grove. I went to high school in Monti.
