Where's the James Bond-mentality in the wake of all of this?

I am not sure if this belongs here, but its short and sweet.

Where is the James Bond type, secret agents that could possibly be of some help. I know this sounds very immature and ludicrus but if terrorists can take a fairly simple idea and make it materialize into complete terror and evil. Why can no Government create the polar opposite, a good opperative? Some one with ‘a license to kill’ and the smarts/know-how/balls/intelligence to go into Afghanistan and start poping terrorists?

Please excuse some of the rhetoric, I was just watching ‘Octopussy’ and it got me thinking.

???

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of the A-Team

i pity the foo

Or G.I. Joe for that matter. Cobra was a terrorist organization, remember? I think the answer to your question though is that we’re limited in what we can do by politics.

We need a Thing, from Marvel Comics. He’d fare well in hot, rocky terrain:

And on the subject of real life operatives, I don’t think they’re supposed to go around revealing themselves.

I think a clean-shaven, heavy-drinking, womanizing bloke like Bond would stand out in Afghanistan. Escpecially in a tux.

I think MPSIMS is a better place for this, so I’ll move it.
