Oh and they are all being played by High School Marching Bands.

I found the Marching Arts Directory, the Ultimate Guide to Marching Bands online. Could this be the geekiest site ever? I was in Marching Band. WE WERE GEEKS. And I feel that a Marching Band is perhaps the worst way to present any type of music whatsoever, but I do have to admit that some of these programs seem pretty impressive. OH and I guess the Pirates of the Carribean is really popular band music last year and I’m surprised that Lord of the Rings isn’t played as much but some of these schools are doing video game music programs.
Now in Kentucky the
West Jessamine HS (Nicholasville) - The Music of Blood Sweat & Tears: Lucretia MacEvil (David Clayton-Thomas), Spinning Wheel (David Clayton-Thomas), Hi-De-Ho (Gerry Goffin and Carole King), God Bless the Child (Billie Holiday and Arthur Herzog, Jr.)

Well I guess they might be funky.

and another school does a Styx tribute?

Haines City HS (Haines City) - The Music of Styx: Grand Illusion/Renegade, The Best of Times/Too Much Time On My Hands, Come Sail Away including Mr. Roboto, Babe and Lady

For me I’d like to go hear

Berkner HS (Richardson) - Siegfried, Lohengrin, Parsifal and Gotterdammerung (Wagner)

Which program would you like to hear?

I think Night on Bald Mountain would be tough to do justice to without strings. It would be hard to listen to the Beatles or Styx tunes without laughing.

I’ll take It Don’t Mean a Thing, You’re the Boss, Zoot Suit Riot
