Right, I chose “none of the above” on the gay marriage question because I think it should be decided at the federal level and allowed everywhere. Actually, I think that the states are already Constitutionally required to recognize gay marriages from other states-- There isn’t actually a public policy exception to the Full Faith and Credit clause, despite what some claim. And while that isn’t a position actually taken by any of the candidates, it’s a heck of a lot closer to Obama and maybe Paul than it is to Santorum or Perry.
Although I think Paul’s actual position is that states should be permitted to ban it, but should not be permitted to allow it. Which really puts him in the same boat as the rest of the social conservatives.
I’m even less. But the poll is slanted towards Paul if you want us to reduce the military-- two questions plop you right in his camp. It’s not very well rounded.
They didn’t place percentages on the others, but the bottom two based on the graff were Santorum and Paul. That is fine with me. Both are way off with me on most issues. At least Paul is interesting.
Like others have said, in some categories I had to pick the answer closest to but not exactly my own. I only put “None of the Above” for the experience question, since I’d prefer a politician but don’t care so much whether they have legislative or executive experience.
