Your Presidential Soulmate

We’ve posted a few links on here to quizzes seeing which candidate you agree with the most. Here’s one I don’t think has been posted, which not only asks you questions about issues, but has a sliding scale on how important the issue is to you, and allows you to skip the question if you don’t care at all.

  1. Johnson 56%
  2. Obama 55%
  3. Roemer 53%
  4. Paul 48%
  5. Three-way tie between Romney, Perry, and Santorum 35%

Heh, it took me a minute looking at your results to remember who Johnson even was. I thought for a second it was some historical comparison of Presidents, and Johnson was LBJ.

  1. Obama 84%

  2. Johnson 57%

  3. Roemer 36%

  4. Paul 30%

  5. Gingrich 12%

  6. Romney 07%

  7. Perry 07%

  8. Santorum 07%

Obama 82%
Johnson 44%
Roemer 41%
Paul 30%
Gingrich 27%
Perry 21%
Romney 19%
Santorum 18%

Obama 91%
Johnson 37%
Roemer 32%
Gingritch 20%
Perry 20%
Paul 20%
Romney 17%
Santorum 17%

Johnson: 70%
Paul: 60%
Roemer: 58%
Romney: 56%
Roemer: 56%
Santorum: 54%
Gingrich: 39%
Obama: 34%

This one seemed a little better than the other one, but still highly flawed.

The questions on abortion, Afghanistan, and guns were sufficiently lacking in nuance that I was unable to answer them.

Obama 55%
Everyone else 39%-43%

I must be more centrist than I thought. Or the poll is hopelessly narrow in scope.

Obama - 85%
Roemer - 49%
Johnson - 46%
Gingrich - 42%
Perry - 38% (WTF?!?)
Romney & Santorum - 35%
Paul 28%

I’m amazed I’m that similar to Rick Perry, whom I consider to be an unrepentant Grade-A scumbag. Not too surprised about the others.

When I was done, Newt Gingrich’s head was the smallest of all. I like that.

Johnson - 61% - never heard of the guy
Paul - 58%
Roemer - 55%
Obama - 49%
Goes down from there. Looks like I’m some kind wishy-washy Libertarian.

Barry Obama - 85%
Buddy Roemer - 45%
Gary Johnson - 43%
Newt Gingrich - 31%
Ron Paul - 25%
Rick Perry, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum - 24%

First time through I didn’t realize that some sections had multiple parts.

Obama 75%
Johnson 47%
Roemer 33%
Paul 29%
Gingrich 16%
Romney, Santorum, Perry 6%

Obama 97%
Gringrich 36%
Everybody else in the 20’s

I got Gingrich as my best match. Hardly surprising: if you look at my posting history, I first mentioned wanting him as the nom in August of 2009.

I wish to register a complaint. I couldn’t find the question about how important it is to never have another Republican win election to the White House (which, as everybody knows, is really the most pressing issue of the day).

Anyway:

Obama: 85%
Roehmer: 34%
Johnson: 31%
Gingrich: 26%
RomTorum: 21%
Paul: 17%

ETA: Can’t say I’m too impressed with the organization’s criteria for “Lacks Courage.” Makes 'em seem a little self-important.

Obama was most like me, Paul the least. Obama and I disagree on the question,“Do you support raising taxes on ANY (caps mine) bracket?” I interpreted that mean a middle-class hike was on the table. He opposes repatriating illigals.

Gingrich 56%, a few others at 50-55%. Obama was the lowest (like around 25-30%).

Of course, I thought most of the questions were irrelevant to anything.

Those are some really poorly worded questions.

Apparently I’m 64% libertarian, but unsurprisingly nobody is a good match.

Johnson 88%.

Some of the questions are really stupidly cast.

Just because your nominal positions line up with someone else’s doesn’t mean you can’t still think they’re an asshole. I was 74% matched with Gingrich, but I wouldn’t vote for him against any of the rest.

Not to mention absurdly limited.

Any survey that has me equally “soulmated” with Newt Gingrich and Obama is flawed beyond belief.
