Which candidate would make the worst president?

Well BigT, I know that and you know that but apparently the crazies don’t know that. Just reading the comments on You Tube for the video I linked to you will find several people who would seem to agree with the heckler.

The Repubs are in trouble. They thought they had it solved with Perry until he showed how stupid he is in debates. It is hard to come back from there. That is why they went after Tony Soprano, (Christie). But he might not want to run now. He has his sights set on 4 years from now.
Hell they may have to turn to Palin. That would be great fun. She is not only stupid but controversial with her personal life.
I don’t think the people who call Obama the anti-Christ are an important voting bloc.

Oh I agree. I just find them to be an amusing voting bloc.

And if I were a Republican I imagine I would find them to be an embarrassing voting block.

As far as Christie is concerned, the mainstream of the party leadership may love the idea of him running but he is far, far too moderate on issues the super right TP folk hold dear. I can’t see him getting the hardcore base too worked up to vote for him.

What’s Christie’s stance on social issues (ie abortion and gay marriage) and has he said anything on issues of foreign policy?

He says he “is not a fan of gay marriage” but supports civil unions for gay couples. He has drawn criticism from social conservatives for signing anti-bullying legislation. Though he is now pro-life he has been pro-choice in the past and could be seen as flip flopping on the issue.

He is already having his credentials as a true conservative questioned by Rush Limbaugh. That won’t do much to help him appeal to the hard core base.

He hasn’t said much on foreign policy that I can find.

Christie is against laws that ban sharia law, and calls their propononents “crazy”.

I suspect he will not hold up well under the Tea Party microscope.

The problem the Republicans have with not being able to settle on a candidate is not the fault of the candidates; it is the voters who have unrealistic, conflicting standards for who is conservative enough. Jon Stewart skewered it last night; they don’t like what they see in the mirror, so they blame the mirror.

What’s so wrong with anti-bullying legislation? And Reagan sadly signed a bill legalizing abortion while his was governor.

It interferes with the free market in which the strong victimize the weak.

:rolleyes::dubious::rolleyes::dubious:

There’s nothing wrong with it at all. However, it is among some things which will count against him with far right Republicans.

Another is a statement he made not long ago about how the anti-muslim rhetoric, and in particular legislation purporting to ban Sharia law, is “crazy”. I thin he said, “I’m tired of the crazies”. You can probably find the video clip somewhere.

Again, nothing wrong with it, except that it’s sane.

The argument as I heard it is that schools wouldn’t be able to say being gay is wrong or unnatural because they could be seen as being bullies.

In other words, because the people who oppose such legislation think they have a right to bully children who don’t conform to their moral standards.

So if I disapproved of what someone did does that I hate and bully them? :dubious:

You are free to disapprove of whatever you want. Just keep it to yourself.

Being gay isn’t something someone does.

I meant homosexual acts and behaviour.

Am I taking this out of context? You don’t object to homosexuals as long as they remain celibate?

That makes us even, I guess. I wouldn’t object to Republicans … if they abstained from voting.

(PS: What’s with the i in behaviour? Is there a way to configure Firefox’s spellchecker for British English? Please advise.)

Bachmann!

I win. No, wait…

Since there is nothing intrinsically wrong with homosexual acts and behavior, if you disapprove of that, and try to do something about it, then yes, you are in the wrong

Santorum, the boy makes Bachmann look lucid - And Perry a deep thinker

All of them
