Which Cartoonist Draws You?

As much as I would like to think of myself as a Gibson Girl or an Art Frahm cutie, the mirror does not lie—every day in every way I become more and more the image of a Helen Hokinson matron.

So, what cartoonist are you drawn by? Patrick McDonnell? R. Crumb? Daumier?

I wouldn’t mind being a Jack Kirby superhero (what do you expect, with a username like CalMeacham?), but I suspect that In Real Life, I should expect to be drawn by Don Martin.

…the guy that draws cartoons for Hunter S. Thompson. Beautiful, ugly art.

Gary Larson

Probably Tim Burton. People did remark my likeness to Jack Skelinton at the time.

Yeah, I get to be the first to say Robert McKimson. Not as Fudd mind you but more along the lines of Bugs Bunny.

Dammit all right, Fudd, only harier. pout

Personality-wise, Bill Watterson. I’m the dad in Calvin & Hobbes.

Calvin: How do they tell how much a bridge can hold?
Dad: They drive progressively heavier trucks over it until the bridge collapses. Then they weigh the last truck that made it over, rebuild the bridge, and that’s how much it can hold.

That’s me.

Physically, I’m more of a Rick Redfern type, so I’ll say Trudeau.

Probably Edward Gorey…I’ve always empathized with Marsh Maryrose, the male Deranged Cousin.

Nah . . . I’ve met Ike, and he’s a weird combination of R. Crumb and Gluyas Williams.

Sandra Delete.

The late Walt Kelly, of Pogo fame. Me as a funny animal? I could see it.

The one who draws Rose is Rose.

Berke Breathed…I somehow seem to fit in the old Bloom County cartoons… [sub] bet ya thought I would say Jim Davis :D[/sub] Keith

I’m Susie from Calvin & Hobbes. Look at my old school pictures if you don’t believe me.

Edward Koren

Whoever draws Hagar the Horrible.

I’m cheating a bit - a cartoonist, yes, but I’m citing his illustrations.

Jules Feiffer’s illustrations of Milo in The Phantom Tollbooth.

My very first online presence was as Milo, but when I registered here Milossarian was well established…

Sergio Aragones.
