I think it’s a little bull-headed of you to assume this since the only words I used in my post was “way too much power for one person to have”. I never mentioned whether or not I was for, or against, anything she has said.
Frankly, I couldn’t tell you one thing Oprah is for or against, or one thing that she has ever been for or against (minus that one book in her club that was faked and Obama).
All I simply said was that she has way too much power for one person. Your argument over whether or not it’s “real” power or not is moot, power is power…you have it or you don’t. Whether it’s political, mental, physical, or whatever…power is power.
To use a really extreme example: I can tell you right now “it’s healthy for you to slit your wrists and bleed a little because it cleanses your mind and body” and you will say “bullshit Cups, that’s stupid”. It’s because I have no power over you. If Oprah were to say the exact same thing I have no doubts that literally millions of people would begin some type of cutting regiment, all because Oprah suggested it.
I never said that all power was equal, I just said that whatever particular power you want to have, you either have it or you don’t. Types of power aren’t equal, but in and of itself…power is power, you either have it or you don’t.
