I work at various auto auctions and BMW stands for Broke My Wallet, Badly Made Wheels, Broken Many Ways, plus a few more I can’t remember right now…none of them good.

But probably just indicative of the BMW’s that end up at auction.

Yep, parts are expensive. From my experience with Porsche, BMW and VW (and Honda & Toyota), that seems to be true of German cars. Johnny L.A. and others seem to corroborate this.

My Porsche 911 was the most fun car I’ve driven, and it was pretty darned reliable to boot. But Porsches are expensive to maintain, and you must keep them maintained.

European cars are expensive to maintain. But if you are a * driver* you will gladly put up with the extra expense for the pleasure of carving up a winding road, or how the seats are truly superior. The Asian cars for the most part just can’t measure up.
If you lump cars into the appliance category buy Asian or American you will be happier.

mangeorge, I assure you there is nothing cheap or shoddy about a 325i exhaust system. Actually, I would assume you are talking about a 2002 exhaust from your description, which is the coolest tailpipe on any car! And M3’s are not shit.

Vote goes to the Japanese but in terms of looks, the Italians do it best.
