OK, I had to go look this up. “Duck” is the name for the female as well as the name for the bird, whether male or female, although males are called drakes.

I still don’t know why people assume I’m female, I always thought my writing style was rather stereotypically male.

1. Stereotypically, women like cats and men like dogs. Obviously some men like cats, some women like dogs, and some men and women like neither. Stereotypes don’t have to be accurate.
2. Tabby and Kat are both diminutive forms of feminine names.

I’ve been assumed to be a guy at times. I think my name’s pretty neutral, so it’s probably the ol’ default-to-male thing. I did used to think Kimmy_Gibbler was a girl, for obvious reasons, but I can’t think of any major surprises beyond that.

This thread is disturbing. On one hand I want to be happy that people actually notice me. On the other hand, these people that notice me apparently think I’m a woman.

It’s probably what I had coming to me by going with an Eddie Izzard routine.

I think it is the Eddie Izzard routine that’s throwing people off, although not because of Izzard himself but because of the joke about “I like my women how I like my coffee, covered in bees!” So people familiar with the routine probably see “Covered_In_Bees” and think “woman covered in bees”.
