Which is worse: climate change deniers or anti-vaxxers?

Dunno what to put here for “message”…

Climate change deniers.

Anti-vaxxers more lead to pockets of infection, climate deniers are helping cause a global catastrophe.

Also there are more climate deniers in positions of power and influence than anti-vaxxers. In part because climate deniers are funded by a trillion dollar fossil fuel industry. There is no trillion dollar lobbyist and propaganda wing behind the anti-vax movement (for whatever reason, big hospital has refused to endorse their own financial interests and promote the anti-vax movement. No idea why).

Also the consequences of anti-vax are more apparent more quickly. You may see consequences in a few year.s Climate change is something we can deny is happening until it is very very progressed. It is already happening and causing issues, but people still deny it. Wait until the middle east/north africa region becomes uninhabitable and hundreds of millions of conservative muslims need to emigrate to other parts of the world. It’ll make the current rise of reactionary neo-fascism seem quaint by comparison.

Climate-change deniers, no contest. The problem is orders of magnitude more severe.

While climate change is a more global problem, it is one that is seemingly intractable; it would require completely reinventing our transportation, agricultural, construction, power production, land management, and political systems to effectively address it, something that even the vast majority of people who acknowledge the factual reality of it reject as being impractical. Anti-vaccination rhetoric, on the other hand, undermines the entirely manageable problem of inoculating enough people such that endemic disease doesn’t grow to epidemic proportions and occasionally eradicating diseases like smallpox and rinderpest (and a whispered breath away from poliomyelitis).

So, both are contemptible perversions of scientific skepticism, but while eliminating climate change denial really wouldn’t significantly shift the impetus to take the necessary steps to combat it, opposition to vaccination results in entirely preventable outbreaks of measles, polio, and other diseases. So, while I’d like to smack a climate change denialist with a wet trout repeatedly until they pass out, then be rewoken and slapped some more, I’m of the opinion that anti-vaxxers really need to be thrown into a water-filled pit with a single log infested with fire ants.

Stranger

Less vaccines, more dead humans. More dead humans, less global warming. Ok I’m not advocating it but there is a certain truth to it.

I believe global warming is a fact but sometimes I feel like it’s hopeless to worry over, because nobody is willing to make the concessions necessary to change the current trajectory. That and we could do all those things and still get taken out by a giant volcano or meteor or something.

Both are worse than flat earth claimants.

If you mean “which is worse for the world”, then hands down it’s climate change deniers.
If you mean “which is the more idiotic position/belief to hold”, then I think anti-vaxxers win (though it’s close).

Who would win in a fight?
