Which long forgotten 70's song will pop up next in a mainstream movie?

I could name a lot more of them if I took the time, but off the top of my head (and a little research):

“Hooked on a Feeling” by Blue Suede in Guardians of the Galaxy
“Boogie Fever” by The Sylvers in Despicable Me
“Dream Weaver” by Gary Wright in Ice Age: Collision Course
“Kung Fu Fighting” in Kung Fu Panda
and now…
“Fox on the Run” by The Sweet plays loudly and proudly on the trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. (Worth mentioning, FotR was my favorite song when I was 10 years old.)

And there is, I think a jeans commercial that features “Jeans On” by Lord David Dundas that had me delving deep into my grey matter to recall it.

This has become a trend in recent years. What will – or should – be the next forgotten 70’s song to get dusted off?

My vote goes to Andy Kim’s "Rock Me Gently," which I always thought was a terrific song and could be more timeless if not for the wonky keyboards and its AM Radio origins.

Devil Gate Drive by Suzi Quatro

Probably something room the great Emitt Rhodes, possibly "She’s Such a Beauty.

Temptations - Can’t Get Next To You

It’s gotta be Chevy Van by Sammy Johns.

Mouth and MacNeal’s How Do You Do because it feels as if it fits in an ironic, romantic comedy montage.

Tarentino or one of his copiers can use The Delfonic’s Didn’t I Blow Your Mind during a horrific murder scene.

I love this song. It should be played everywhere, all the time.

The Temptations “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” was recently on Big Little Lies, I forgot how good it was.

I’d like to hear Lee Michael’s “Do You Know What I Mean”. I always liked that song, has a great beat, you can dance to it…

The Staples Singers “I’ll Take You There” is an excellent song. Wasn’t this in a movie already? Or am I thinking of the documentary about Mavis?

Drug-fuelled sex scene-- Fly Robin, Fly

Arming up for the big fight – Slade’s Cum On Feel The Noize.

First date, kids having fun, retirement home residents looking sad and eating pudding-- Your Momma Don’t Dance

Aced that job interview! Snagged that date! Buying a bunch of new, cool stuff-- Stevie Wonder’s Sir Duke.

O.K. I’ll stop now.

Middle of the Road - Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep

Love Train, by The O’Jays.

Someone has already made a very cool video to go along with it.

Rock the Boat

Though the comments seem to be saying it was in The Martian.

Let me think of another…

We Are Family??

Sounds like something that would appear in a Will Farrell movie.

Didn’t that song already appear in Jackie Brown???

This song has, for me, been the earworm that will not stay away.

Damn you.
mmm

Bob Dylan, “Forever Young”

I dunno. Which song? ETA Looked it up. Didn’t I does appear in the soundtrack. Was someone getting beat up while it played?

It’s not exactly forgotten, and it’s from 1968 (although frequently covered, notably by Juice Newton in 1981), but clearly Chip Taylor’s “Angel of the Morning”, used under the incredible opening credit scene in Deadpool is in the class of songs the OP is listing.

Cat Stevens, “Sitting”

I hear this song in the lobby of my office building quite often. It’s a good song, but not something I’ve ever heard played on the radio. Seems like the perfect 70’s deep cut for a movie soundtrack.
