I am thinking of buying a couple of movies for an upcoming trip. Short flights, but potentially lots of waiting in airports.
What movies have you seen recently that you might recommend?
When traveling I would probably prefer something lighthearted, or at least with some humor in it.
I haven’t seen many recent movies except Inception and Precious. Neither of which are very new, I guess.
Some of my favorite movies of all time (in case it helps, though I am open to any suggestions) are: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Tombstone, Office Space, The Full Monty, State and Main. Also like Lord of the Rings, Serenity and BBC costume dramas.
A Knight’s Tale is one of my favorite ‘light watching’ movies; you can halfway pay attention and still follow it, but if you have the opportunity and motivation to actually pay attention, there are a few layers of cleverness you may miss on the first viewing. Plus, Heath Ledger was so beautiful!
The Terminal (good survival strategies, given the current weather situation)
And of course, Blazing Saddles. Just because. And an equal opportunity offender, regardless of your seatmate.
Call the airline(s) and ask what movies they’re going to be showing on the flights. Then watch those in the departure lounge. Then, when they show the movie on the flight, you can turn to your seatmate and say, “Seen it.”
Ooh, good one! We got our daughter the DVD for Christmas, and she still watches it just about every day. We saw it, as a family, in the movie theater. The animation was excellent, the story line was good, lots of LOL moments, a few ::sniff:: moments. . .great movie!
