I got refrigerator right off, for the same reason as MVS.
My first thinking with these types of riddles is that the answer won’t be anything that’s either too complicated or obvious. The answer is going to be something the target audience is most likely to get or at least relate to. So, answers like “X, because it doesn’t mix Roman and Greek terminology” are out.
Like, what’s the next number of this series: 6, 7, 9, 8, 6, 8, ?
I’m sure some mathematical whiz can come up with a 40-page equation that predicts this, but that’s not something the other 99.99% of the population will get. It’s going to be something that’s considered common knowledge, like the days of the week. Proclaiming other answers and justifications for them is just pointless quibbling that saves face for the schmuck who didn’t get it.
