If you don’t mind me asking, why do you think you might need to get rid of one of them?
And what does “get rid of” mean? Give to good, cat-loving friends? Drop off at the pound? Leave by the side of the road?
One’s only allowed to have two animals here now.
As for the phrase “get rid of”…I have no idea. I haven’t thought that far yet since I don’t want to get rid of EITHER of them. But I’m thinking it would probably be giving one to a neighbor or friend or someone I know who wants a cat.
I don’t mean to butt in, but just in case: if you’re renting an apartment and you’ve had those cats for a while, and this is a new policy, you may be able to fight this decision. What if the pets policy changes after you move in? from the Humane Society website.
Just might be something to look into, if you want to keep your pets.
Otherwise … ugh, I’d hate to have this Sophie’s Choice situation. I guess I’d keep the affectionate cat and just get [cabinet door latches](http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&productId=100117958&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&keyword=cabinet latch) of some kind. Poor kitties. ![]()
Depressing thread. Sorry.
