What’s the point of being able to teleport if the only thing I can do is teleport back? I can’t take anything with me, even money, so I can’t even buy a freaking hamburger, or a hotel for the night, so I can only stay until I get hungry or tired. I can’t go anywhere inclement or too cold. Because of the restrictions on carrying things, it wouldn’t even be practical to teleport to work, which is how I would use it since my daily commute is an hour and a half each way.
Given the choice of teleporting or telepathy, I’d choose teleporting in a heartbeat, but not with the OP’s restrictions, which would make things less convenient, and no fun at all.
On the other hand, I hate the idea of telepathy. Why would I want to burden myself with other people’s thoughts? I’m already convinced most people are self-absorbed, vindictive twits. I don’t need that slammed into my brain every single day.
I think I’ll pass on both “gifts”, thank you very much.
