Which oil company should we boycott?

Which oil company should we boycott?

Or, more appropriately, are there any we shouldn’t?

I used to boycott Shell because it was reported that they did horrendous things in Nigeria, both to the environment and to the people.

I have since tried to research this and now it appears Exxon/Chevron is the company doing evil in Nigeria.

Did Shell leave Nigeria? Was it because of the boycott? Has the boycott’s emphasis shifted to Exxon/Chevron?

Most importantly, which company, if any, are doing bad things in Nigeria that we should potentially base purchasing decisions on?

Jeff

I don’t know about anything going on in Nigeria that involves oil companies, so I’d be interested to hear what other people have to say about that.

My parents boycott Exxon because of the Valdez oil spill in the 80’s.

I boycott shell because they don’t have a grocery store built in like the place across the street.

The General Questions forum is for questions with factual answers. I’m not sure whether you meant this as a debate (in which Great Debates would be appropriate) or simply a poll (in which case In My Humble Opinion would be appropriate.) I’ll close this thread and let you reopen it in whichever forum is more suited to your intention.
