Toronto. When I was very young, my Dad would take me to Leafs games at Maple Leaf Gardens. I saw some of the team’s greats play: Keon, Armstrong, Bower (without a mask!), Baun, Ellis, Horton… If Dad’s plan was to make me a Leaf fan for life; well, it worked.
Detroit, because it’s the local team. I like the Canadiens and their tradition. That logo is perhaps second only to the Yankees in universal recognition. I also would like to see Toronto finally do well, their fans have waited far too long for a Cup. Maybe number 4 would be the Black Hawks due to their proximity, followed by the Rangers and finally the Bruins.
Toronto, perhaps because of Börje Salming and Mats Sundin, but also because of their cool jerseys, the fact that it’s a Candian team, which is likeable, I knew a decent guy from Toronto, and they never win.
