I may get a hockey sweater for Christmas. Which team should I ask for?

Toronto or Montreal? I definitely want a Canadian team because I think Canada is cool. Which team, Leafs or Canadiens?

Leafs. Better logo, better color. Just don’t ever wear it in Montreal.

I’d vote for the Canadiens. They are the Yankees of the NHL (perhaps the Celtics would be a better analogy, as neither have done anything for a while). I say this, by the way, as a Bruins fan who should, properly, hate all things related to Les Habitants.

Or, you could go old school and go with the Quebec Nordiques.

Split the difference and go with Ottawa.

It depends whether or not you’re concerned about offending M. Eaton.

For an audio version of the story about the glories of owning a Canadiens sweater as opposed to a Leafs, you can give it a listen here.

Or get a Canadian five dollar bill and read a snippet on the back.

Get a Red Wings jersey. It’s timeless, classy, and just may piss off any fan you’ll see in the area.

Jesus Christ, if you’re going to get a hockey sweater, don’t get a Leafs sweater. It’s akin to wearing a sandwich board that says “Loser Inside.” Perhaps you’re not up on the modern history of the NHL but the Leafs are sort of the Chicago Cubs of baseball, the big market team that just loses and loses and loses and loses.

Without a doubt, the coolest Canadian team sweater you can get is a Canadiens jersey. And I’m not even a Canadiens fan.

The Senators, Oilers and Flames also have good jerseys. Remember: if you’re wearing a Oilers jersey, you’re wearing the jersey of the team Wayne Gretzky had his glory years with, and there’s a lot to be said for that. The Vancouver Canucks jerseys, IMHO, are hideous, but that’s just my opinion.

Pick a team that isn’t around any more… I’d go with Winnipeg Jets

Canada what?

Everyone knows that hockey was invented in New Jersey. Thus, you should get a Devils sweater.

It’s the historically accurate thing to do.

I’m also considering the Oilers. I just may get Toronto and Montreal if I ask the right relatives. I have a big exteded family.

Why not just get one from the team of which you are a fan? If you are a hockey fan why would you want just any team’s jersey/sweater?

Everyone looks hot in a winged wheel

Charleston Chiefs.

I’ll second this. . . it was invented in Weehawken, and Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton had a duke-out to decide who was to drop the first friggin’ puck. It’s true. Believe me. . . the birth of the NHL was actually performed in the Brendan Byrne Arena.

Go Devils! (I’ve got my Oct 5th pennant!)

Don’t get a Leafs jersey. How hideous! (Speaking as a Southern Ontario-ite.)

If you can get a Flames jersey from last year (before they added the ugly square shoulder patches), I’d suggest that. If you can only find the ugly shoulder patches, then go for a Canadiens jersey.

(Naturally I’ve also lived in Calgary and Montreal, so I may be biased.)

We watched The Sweater last night, Dave had never seen it before.

Don’t wear an Oilers jersey to my house.

I’m from Calgary.

And yet. . . she’s a Tampa fan!
::D&R. . . :: :smiley:

Tripler
No, really, she’s a Rangers fan.

Habs!!! :d

I’d go with the very handsome sweater of Team Canada

I’d suggest you get this one. You should make everybody happy :stuck_out_tongue: .
