Call me tetchy, but I’m getting mightily annoyed by the number of lame-arsed questions being posted in “General Questions”.
Just today we’ve been treated to such weighty conundrums as “Are there people who feel that wearing boxers is kinda creepy?” and “Has anyone used any of those steamers that you see on TV?” .
What can we look forward to next in GQ?
“What colour panties are you wearing?”
“What do you get if you cross a fox with a penguin?”
Fuck’s sake, people.
They’re back to reading “General Questions” as the forum title, and saying, “Yep, that’s for questions about anything …”
Or they just didn’t realise that opinion-seeking threads or polls goes in IMHO.
r_k , I feel your pain on this one, but there’ll be more of this over the holiday season, believe me.

If you cross a fox and a penguin you get a filled fox.

But both of those questions have factual answers…
Yes, there are people who feel that wearing boxers is kinda creepy and yes, there are people who have used the steamers you see on TV.
What’s the problem?

I think his point is that the forum is for General Questions, not General Moronic Questions, IMO.

Maybe a change of the name to General Factual Questions?
I don’t think some of these people know what “factual” means.

Don’t be silly. You get a fonguin.
If you cross a fox and a penguin, will it repel a vampire?
Funny, I thought you got a snow brush.
1). I never* put on panties (I enjoy taking them off, though…)
2). fox + penguin = fur tuxedo…
Back on topic, I agree that it seems like many of the threads started in the GQ forum are either (as you said) not really factual questions, or are questions that could be answered more quickly by a visit to Google; I’m sure I’m not the only one who’ll read a question & become curious enough about the answer to surf over to our ol’ pal Google for an answer.
** That’s my story, & I’m stickin’ to it*
As much as it pains me to say, moronic questions that require opinions do belong in IMHO, though I prefer non -moronic questions that require opinions.
Please.

No if you’re using genetic engineering, yes if you’re doing it the old fashioned way.
Does it matter who’s on top?
Yes. Vampires are notorious for their anti-interspecies stances. Very bigoted, those vampires.
You get an emotionally scarred penguin
