Which side are you on

When the shit hits the fan?

Only two options - you’re either for or against

Probably the status quo. I’m not a fighter.

I’m pretty much on the winning team now. So odds are I’d do worse after La Revolucion.

But what the heck, I’m an adventurer at heart. Now an overage, overweight adventurer, but an adventurer nonetheless. Aux Barricades mon ami’s!!

Status quo. Not that it’s always all that great, but it’s got a way of coming back after all the shooting’s done. Especially if we didn’t really ever understand what set it up in the first place.

Probably status quo, I’m Canadian, I love apathy.

Status quo. Revolutions, however well intentioned on a broad scale, have a tendency to reward the violent, smarmy, and devious at the expense of the productive and upright.

The upside? The near side? The Far Side?

I am firmly against any shit hitting fans.

Seriously though, I would probably be for the status quo. Revolution has a way of being often worse than what was being rebelled against. While I like adventure, it would take a massively just cause to get me to take to the streets.

I’m for the revolution, only because it’s sometimes a good thing to shake the status quo out of its lethargy.

The revolution. I’ve never been happy with the status quo.

Once again, the Family Circus has already covered this

Depends entirely on what the frakas is about.

Wherever windward shall be
there ye shall find thee.

I have to go with the Revolution. I look good in my Che Guevara shirt.

Plus, I really liked Purple Rain.

I’d have to know who was revolting.

Look at the Spanish Civil War, for instance: the legitimate elected gov’t was leftist and the rightists were the revolutionaries, supported and armed by Hitler and Mussolini. Fortunately, the freedom-loving nations of the world stepped in to protect the democratically elected gov’t of Spain from the fascists. Didn’t they?

Reluctantly with the Revolution. There are things that need to be changed. I’d rather a more gradual approach, but if my choice is no change or violent change, I would rather try to be a moderating influence on the side of change.

Pete Seeger weighs in with the classic.

And Billy Bragg updates it.

Why do you hate America?

I’d probably be revolting, but my role would really depend on what the rebels were all about. If it was Tea Partiers revolting to an even darker, more liberal POTUS I’d join just to become a mole or to sow discontent within the ranks and facilitate the collapse of the rebellion. On the other hand, if Jeb Bush gets within spitting distance of the White House I’ll…I’ll…um…well I’d really approve of something getting done about that.

Attica attica attica attica.

Is that the sound of you firing the guns? Or are you taking fire with the rest of us?
