Which side are you on

Mmmm, I was thinking more of Haiti or some African country. Although I do get nervous about voting machine fraud every Election Day now.

I always side with the Revolutionaries. Unless there’s something good on TV.

So, you said you were not in the Revolution camp. Yet, by disobeying an order of the President, because it’s a severe change in the way of things, you would have to be in a military revolution against the President. Sound a lot like the junta in Latin American countries.

I’m saying it would take a severe change in things for any of that to happen. shrug

Personally, like “The Russia House” I think lists of questions tell a lot about who is asking.

I’m going to ostensibly be revolutionary, and report to the status quo.

Whichever one is less likely to get me killed.

Well, duh. The last attempt we had at a revolution was 150 years ago. So, if such an event were to occur today, would you find yourself to be a conservative anarchist, or a liberal conformist?

My answer would be…

Yes.

It would depend on two things:

  1. What the revolution’s about- I’m not going to revolt over something asinine that can be better handled through legislation or the courts, but I’m all about revolution if the government is seriously flaunting the rule of law, the Constitution, or a few other deal-breaking things.

  2. What kind of critical mass the revolution has. I’d probably pass on a revolution until it is a big enough/widespread enough movement to seriously challenge the status quo. Otherwise I’d be setting me and mine up for retribution when it’s all over.

Like Celebrity Apprentice?

Monty Burns: Smithers, we’re at war!
Smithers: I’ll begin profiteering, sir.
Monty Burns: And hoarding

Nah, I lost interest. If that’s an example of the business world, then no wonder we had a global economic meltdown.
