Which song from Team America do you most want to see performed at the Oscars?

Not “which is your favorite song?”, but which song do you most want to see performed live at the Academy Awards? Pretend that naughty words are not an issue.

I vote for You Are Worthless, Alec Baldwin. I’ve been singing that non-stop since I saw the movie! Great song!

I’d like to see the America! Fuck Yeah! song.

Pearl Harbor Sucked, And I Miss You!

Interesting. Haven’t seen the film yet, but I’m trying to think of any other Oscar-eligible songs from any film this year and am coming up a bit empty…

That one was great. But somehow, “Everybody’s Got AIDS” was my favorite.

Still, it would be wonderful if Michael Bay, Ben Affleck and Jerry Bruckheimer were in the audience and had to hear “Pearl Harbor Sucked, and I Miss You.”

I’m not sure how serious they are, but they’ve mentioned trying to get a nod for “I’m so Ronery”. I wouldn’t mind seeing that one.

Also loved “Everybody has AIDS!”

Thought “You are worthless Alec Baldwin” was sub-par and was glad it wasn’t in the film.

I just came back from seeing Team America. As Kim Jung Il sang I’m So Ronery, I thought, “This is the one they’ll be singing at the Academy Awards next year. And if we’re lucky, a marionette will be singing it.”

I agree with Cisco about You are Worthless, Alec Baldwin. That and I Miss You, and Pearl Harbor Sucked could have been dropped with no loss. Both were too wordy and clunky.

I really liked the “Montage” song.

The question wasn’t really what was the bet song but what would be the funniest to hear at the Oscars. I the the event would call for “Pearl Harbor Sucked and I Miss You” (“I need you more than Ben Affleck needs acting school”) but “America, Fuck Yeah!” would be pretty funny too.

That was from South Park, so I’m guessing ineligible.

So they did “Montage” in South Park, too? What episode, or was it the movie?

It was in an episode when the kids and their families were staying at a ski resort. The parents spent the whole episode being held prisoner in a room and hard sold on time shares. The kids’s storyline involved a send up of teen movie cliches in which Stan is challenged to a race by a hot shot skier. The “Montage” section was played while Stan was training for the race.

Does the Academy really want to start Korean War 2:The Nukes Come Out at Night? I don’t think so.

I go with America, Fuck Yeah!
